Ingredients

- Flour: use all purpose flour. Measure the flour using a scale for best results.
- Cocoa Powder: use unsweetened cocoa powder. I recommend Hershey's cocoa powder. (Make sure you are not using dutch-processed cocoa powder).
- Baking Powder: make sure you are using baking powder and not baking soda.
- Salt: kosher salt helps to balance the flavors.
- Butter: use unsalted butter. You can melt the butter on the stove top over medium heat, or microwave it for less clean up.
- Sugar: granulated sugar is best. Brown sugar can be substituted and will give you chewier brownies.
- Eggs: use two large room temperature eggs.
- Vanilla: a bit of vanilla extract adds great flavor.
- Chocolate Chips: chocolate chip brownies need some chocolate chips in them! Use semi sweet, milk, or dark chocolate chips.

How to Make Easy Chocolate Chip Brownies
This brownie recipe is so easy to make and all you need is a baking pan and wooden spoon! Start by greasing a 9 x 9 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and lining the pan with parchment paper; set aside.
Step 1: mix dry ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Make sure you mix until all of the ingredients are well incorporated.
Step 2: mix wet ingredients

In a separate large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar until combined. Then, add in the eggs and vanilla and mix well, scraping down the sides of the bowl if needed.
Add in the dry ingredients and stir until well combined. Use a rubber spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl.
Lastly, add in the chocolate chips and mix until well combined.
Step 3: bake and cool

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top so it spreads evenly into the pan.
Bake the brownies on the center rack of your preheated oven for about 22-25 minutes. Be careful not to over bake. You'll know the brownies are done with a toothpick inserted in the center of the brownie comes out almost clean.
Cool the pan on a wire cooling rack for at least 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cut into squares.
