How To Make Peach Streusel Bread From Scratch

Step 1. Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 350 °F. Spray 6 mini loaf pans (or 3 regular size loaf pans) with nonstick spray.

Step 2. Prepare dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

Step 3. Prepare wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, vegetable oil, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.

Step 4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour the wet mixture into it. Mix until combined.

Step 5. Add peaches: Fold in diced peaches (peach skin removed).

Step 6. Fill loaf pans: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Layer sliced peaches on top of each batter.

Step 7. Prepare topping: In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats (preferably long-cooking, not instant), brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cut cold butter into small pieces and add to the mixture.

Step 8. Mix and distribute: Use a pastry cutter to cut the cold butter into the mixture. Distribute this streusel topping across the batter in your filled pans.

Step 9. Bake: Place the pans on the center rack of the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 10. Cooling: Remove the pans from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes.

Step 11. Final cooling: After 15 minutes, remove the bread from the pans and allow them to continue cooling on the rack.
