- Vanilla extract: Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to intensify the vanilla flavor.
- Sugar: I use granulated sugar, but other sugars work too.
- Whipped cream: This is optional, but adds great flavor!
- Maraschino cherries: An optional garnish!

How To Make A Vanilla Frappé
Step 1. Prepare milk cubes: Freeze milk in an ice cube tray 2 hours (or the night) before making the frappe to make milk ice cubes.
Step 2. Blend ingredients: In a high-powered smoothie blender, combine milk cubes, milk, vanilla extract, and sugar to taste.
Step 3. Blend until smooth: Puree the mixture until all the milk cubes are broken down into a smooth, milkshake-like consistency.

Tips
- If you want to amp up the vanilla flavor, add ½ of a real vanilla bean (gently cut lengthwise along the long edge of the vanilla bean and using the back side of a knife scrape the beans out of the pod) before blending to make a vanilla bean frappe. You can also add vanilla bean paste or vanilla bean powder.
- To give your frappe a coffee boost, you can add a ½ cup of coffee or espresso to the recipe. Instant coffee also work.

I don't recommend freezing the completed frappe, you can freeze the milk cubes separately and blend them when you're ready to enjoy.
